Power line inspection services is a necessary part of maintaining overhead transmission lines. Most customers find an annual inspection of non-exempt connections (mechanical connection with potential for resistance) to be adequate in identifying defects. In areas of high winds, excessive loading, or high fire danger environments a bi-annual or even quarterly inspection is encouraged. Once a defect has been identified, repairs should be either scheduled or additional scans taken to determine stability. After repairs have been made a follow-up scan is done during the next inspection and the repaired image report generated to provide documentation the repairs was effective.
